Black Fathers Rock! (BFR!) is an IRS approved, 501(c)3 organization that seeks to change the narrative and dispel the notion that all black fathers are absent by empowering them with resources to strengthen the family. We promote strong families, the importance
of fatherhood and conduct workshops, programming and events tailored to our purpose.
Since our inception, we’ve been able to impact the community by inspiring our youth to be strong citizens as well as continuing the conversation of the importance of fatherhood. Community involvement includes, but is not limited to: Partnering with the City of Charlotte’s Community Relations Department to discuss growing up fatherless, inspiring
the youth of the local YMCA at Daddy Day in the Park, participating in the State
of Our Black Boys panel discussion, partnering with local schools to feed over 800 families during COVID, as well as serving at the Men’s Shelter and Hospitality House which houses families of local hospital patients.
 
Black Fathers Rock! also takes pride in highlighting fathers in the Charlotte, NC
community who exhibit all attributes of what it means to be a present and active
father. As a result, the organization has witnessed fathers reconciled with their
families and looks to attain 1,000 success stories of similar nature in its life span. The annual Black Fathers ROCK! celebration leverages the black excellence momentum to strategically program a night full of positivity, strength and love for black patriarchs.
